Toycon 2016

Stormtrooper display inside Toycon 2016. There are 154 of them, excluding Darth Vader and the 2 Red Guards.
Hi guys! It's been 2 months and 2 weeks since I updated the blog. I've returned to give you a review of this year's Toy Convention, Toycon 2016. Well, where do I start? First off, I apologize for not updating the blog for this long, I didn't attended Ozine 2016 and some of the events I attended are small-scale compared to the other events I'll be attending. Second, I've became busy with school that I have to go into a hiatus. Since it's my vacation, it's my turn to return the favor to you guys who still support me until today. Just a reminder, maybe this will be the latest post because the next big event will be 3 months later.

Toycon, famous for it's display of toys and collectibles of all shapes and sizes, migrated from SM Megamall to SMX Convention Center. The ticket price was sure surprising, but it was all worth it.
The event took the whole ground floor of the convention center. From Hall 1 that contained all the merchants to Hall 2 that has the display of rare toys and collectibles, in between Hall 2 and 3 lies the center stage where special guests performed there, and the Hall 4, well, it's full of Funko Pop and other sponsors and the food area.

BB-8 from Star Wars. Good thing I started taking pictures from the right side to the left side to avoid traffic.
As the caption says, I decided to take pictures from the right side to the left side. That way, I can see what I will expect inside the event. I then realized that migrating from the old venue to the convention center was really a great idea. It was really cramped inside last year's Toycon. You can't even have a decent picture with all the people coming inside the event area. And these kind of events is for all ages, meaning there will be kids inside the event so it will be more difficult to take a decent picture.

A big Voltes V display!

Near this display lies the center stage. I saw a lot of performers there yesterday, but unfortunately, I just attended one day because of the surprising ticket price. One of the performers there is Electric Ribbon, a Jpop group who came all the way from Japan to perform here. Unfortunately, when they started their performance, there were a few people watching there, including me. Other performers from Japan are DJ Kazu and Yanakiku. I did watch them perform but the case is the same with Electric Ribbon. I heard that some Filipino bands performed on the earlier days of the event, but yeah too bad I missed them.

Michael Jordan figurine!

There are lots of display for people who are basketball enthusiasts at the same time, collectors. Like this.
Lebron James cartoon statue
Stephen Curry cartoon statue

They are also selling Gunpla at a whopping 50% discount. As well as tools to help you get started in building your own Gunpla.
Well, that's all I can say about this year's Toy Convention. Will be expecting more to the next one.

I'll be linking my album of Toycon, Facebook page and Youtube channel here.

Thanks for reading!

Stay safe and happy!
Yours truly.
