Cosplay Mania 2015 (Meet and Greet & Concert)

A good day to you guys!

A few announcements for you guys before I start the coverage for Cosplay Mania 2015. Starting this update, I will be posting here on this website since I encountered problems posting content on Tumblr.

Cosplay Mania 2015 Experience brought you by none other than, myself :)

It's been a while since I updated the blog, and I just only realized that you can change the language of the site to English (I can be stupid sometimes, sorry about that). Good thing you can post a lot of pictures at this site, and finally I can express myself even more.

Once again, I am Colichemarde, a newbie photographer and blogger. Pleased to meet you guys.

A little background first about Cosplay Mania. This event is known to be the most biggest event held here in the Philippines. It started in 2008 and it was known to have the biggest guests from all over the world. I started attending Cosplay Mania since 2013, and this year, it's my 3rd year attending this event. I am really happy about how the staff handle the event very well. I just hate how people don't show discipline in attending the events here in the Philippines. I wish I could just walk at them and slap them in the face so that they will be able to realize what they are doing. Another thing I hate about some people who attend events is that they don't give respect to the people cosplaying, doing stuff they shouldn't do etc. etc.

Moving on, it all started when my classmate from grade school asked me if I am going to attend Cosplay Mania this year. I told him that I am going to attend and I got my ticket already. He asked me if he can join me, and I immediately said yes because I wasn't able to accompany him for this year's Best of Anime which happened on  the 19th and 20th of September due to fever with matching mild tonsillitis.

We then headed to the event after all of us going there have gathered together. I was really nervous because I thought that I will be late for the meet and greet session. Good thing we arrived 30 minutes before it started. At the event venue, there are people waiting for the venue to open, and to my surprise, the line outside reached the left side. Good thing I flashed my meet and greet ticket so that I can enter the venue immediately.

Meet and Greet with Malaysian Cosplayer Ying Tze

(Ying Tze cosplaying as Rize Kamishiro from Tokyo Ghoul. Photo taken during the 2nd day Meet and Greet session)

While I am buying merchandise for her to sign, I was really both happy and nervous during that time, but the nervousness subsided when I entered the room for the M&G session, due to seeing some familiar faces. There was a person who always crack jokes and laughs like a maniac (not insulting), because of that, the mood at the room became lighter (I thank you for that, hope to meet you :3).

Organizers explain the house rules, but ignored it because I always act on my best behavior whenever I go outside. I always do that because, as a soon-to-be professional, you must always act on your best behavior so that you leave a good impression to others (as taught by a friend who is a nurse).

We all waited for her to arrive, and after minutes of harsh waiting at the super cold meeting room, she arrived with her Rize cosplay. I saw her cosplay Rize in her page but, trust me, the experience is different when you see her cosplay it with your very own eyes. The usual sequence of Q&A, autograph signing, and picture taking with her happened.  But I was really surprised when I asked her if she remembered me because I also attended the Ozine 2015 VIP Meet and Greet (If you want to read my post about it, do click the hyperlink) and she is also one of the guests there.

As a newbie photographer, my photographs on her, almost all are bad, and few good shots, but it's a process to become a professional photographer. “Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.”  as quoted by Henri Cartier-Bresson. I think that every time you do something, for example, photography, you always do your best. Every time you take a photograph, it signifies the effort you spent on that photograph, and you can always improve your shots. How could I say this, it's like, after you take a photograph, you can improve your photographs, and improve until you are the best of the best. You get the idea.

There was a moment during the autograph session when I asked her if she remembers me, and to my surprise, she did. I was panicking in my mind, because, an international cosplayer who you want to be friends with, remembers you somehow. That is one of my dreams, to become friends with cosplayers from around the world.

After that, it was the picture taking. Though the organizers said that there is a limit of 2 pictures per person, it was not followed XD I think organizers should be more light about house rules, especially when it's all about picture taking with the guests. The fun part about it is we attendees of that meet and greet got a group photo together. It was the best moment I ever had. Again.

Japanese Anime Music Concert (JAM Concert)

(This is the area where the concert will be held)

I was running with a friend to the concert because the concert already started, and I am worried that the concert hall at the event will be full. Good thing it's not full as I expected, and the concert has just started. The concert started with the performance of Loverin Tamburin. They performed 6 songs. To be honest, I don't know anything about them, except the fact that their vocalist is a girl. After hearing them perform, I wanted to download all of their songs XD . The best thing about their performance is their instrument play. They really rocked the stage during their play. I think I'll download their releases, they are really interesting. The next performer would be Itsuki Akira. She is very beautiful person, although she only performed 2 songs because of her busy schedule. The really best performance is the voice actress of Maki Nishikino of Love Live, Eriko Hori, also known as Pile. I just know her because I watch the Love Live series, and nothing more. Even though I was updated to her due to following her page, I don't know everything about her, honestly. After hearing her performance, I am interested (again), so I will download her albums. Despite not having a clear voice during the concert, I really enjoyed it. I wish more guests will attend next year's Cosplay Mania and whoever the guests there, I will definitely attend again.
